At The Front Porch Counseling Center we are a team of clinical social workers and psychotherapists in private practice. Collectively, we have over 50 years of experience working with patients from adolescence onward in individual psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy.

As a small group, we offer personal attention to our clients and their families' needs. Our approach to helping is cognitive-behavioral and solution oriented, meaning that we focus on helping you develop specific strategies and skills for problem resolution; this has been shown in numerous studies to be one of the most efficient treatments for most problems.
We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to therapy (working with you as a partner, not talking down to you), our strong commitment to ethical and effective clinical practice, and our service to the larger community.

We use a client-centered therapy approach to treat a wide range of conditions including:

- Depression and suicidal feelings
- Anxiety disorders
- obsessive-compulsive, body dysmorphic, panic, and agoraphobia
- addictions and codependency
- Self-esteem and self-image problems
- Personality disorders
- Marital and relationship conflicts
- Eating disorders

While a person can feel better after a good talk with a friend or relative, for moderate or severe emotional distress, this relief is only temporary. Talking with a trained listener helps alleviate emotional distress for good. The therapists in our practice are trained to listen and interact in a way that helps you get to the very root of your emotional concerns.

We offer you an opportunity to face your difficulties constructively and confidently; freeing you to enjoy all the good things life has to offer. Don't wait another minute. Give us a call. We'll give you an opportunity to meet with one of our therapists to see if our practice is right for you.

"Nestled under large trees, near the river, is a new experience in psychotherapy.  Sitting in a rocking chair, on the front porch, your tension begins to melt away. Deep, clearing breaths come  back to you.  As a counselor greets you, you realize, "This is a place like no other."  There is a calmness, an easiness, and a depth of understanding.  Clients are respected as equals, and the journey to Oneness is embraced together".
